Squidoo and HubPages

$100 In Free Links From Text Link Ads!

It’s Day 13 of the Marketing Guru Challenge and today I would like to show you how to implement free long term traffic streams.

We can use free sites like Squidoo and HubPages. You can promote your blog, your affiliate’s products, even get traffic to your sign up page and build your own mailing lists.

Lets look at Squidoo first. You can sign up here if you do not have an account.

Squidoo are basically one page websites. Once you are signed up you can create a new lense. Your lense should consist of at least 1000 words and include your referral link at least twice in the text. You can add other modules to the lense such as Adsense and Amazon.

When you have published your new lense, search for different Groups inside Squidoo and add your lense to these groups. Finally search for other lenses related to your niche and leave a comment on at least 5 lenses every day from now on for the next 5 days.

Here is a quick Squidoo lense I have done as an example

HubPages are similar to Squidoo but instead of creating a lense, you create new Hubs. One big difference between the two is that HubPages only allow a maxium of 2 links on your Hub Pages.

Here is just one way I have successfully used to promote Clickbank products.

Go to www.cbengine.com

On the left menu, click on new products.

Look for one that suites your niche, has a good commission payout and a rising gravity. You can also try the top sellers, but these are harder to get onto the first few pages of Google. Let me explain.

Call the article xyz review. Why? Because when I am after a new product I do a search “xyz review” to see what others think! So hopefully others will do the same. And by using Hubpages or Squidoo, with their high PR, you should be well ranked in SERPs, so your post should be on the first few pages of Google if your search engine optimization is OK. Another benefit is seeing it is a relative new product, you should not have much competition to begin with.

Once you have your Clickbank product, just write a post like you normally do and submit this to Hubpages or Squidoo. Include a picture of the product and maybe even a video from Youtube of a tutorial related to the affiliates product. Don’t forget to include your Clickbank hoplink.

Do not write that you use the product, just a recommendation on what the product does. Try and mention a problem that might occur and how the product can help you. Most of this information can be found on the affiliates own web site. Don’t spam your article with keywords and try making your affiliates product name look natural.

Just check with Hubpages first, as I think you can only have 2 links to the one domain. Squidoo is a bit more lenient as it is geared more towards marketing than Hubpages. Again just do a little search before you submit your Squidoo lens just to see what is allowed.

Or just do the same thing on your blog. Write a review of the product and use this as your main advertising page. This way you can include as many affiliate links and pictures as you like.

The next step is bookmark your Squidoo Lense and your Hub Page. Before you can bookmark your websites you need to create an account at the different social bookmarking sites. I recommend SocialMarker tool for bookmarking as it saves you a lot of time and has a large list of bookmarking sites.

(I have been told that Propeller may class your Hub Page as spam, so if this happens, don’t worry this has happened to many people).

Sign up to as many bookmarking sites as you like and then start to bookmark your Squidoo lense and Hub Page. This should result in some traffic and also you should get search engine listings for different keywords.
