Social Marketing
It’s Day 14 of the Marketing Guru Challenge and today we’ll look at Social Marketing.
Without doubt two of the most visited sites are Facebook and MySpace. Both are social sites, that means people can interact on these sites.
As we are trying to build up traffic to our autoresponder mailing lists or even our blog, we can use these social sites for marketing purposes but it has to be done in a certain way.
Create an account at both Facebook and MySpace. Then setup your profile and add a link to your autoresponder signup pages or blog on your profile. Fill out all the information that you are asked for and make your profile as interesting as possible and dding a picture is also suggested.
The next step is to join some groups related to your niche and add some friends. If possible try to add 10 friends every day until you have at least 500. At this stage you’ll receive enough friends invitations from other people you can stop adding friends yourself.
You can also create your own groups on both networks. I strongly suggest you do so as this will again result in getting more friends and more profile views.
Finally leave a comment on all your friend’s profiles. Thank them for adding you as a friend and that you look forward to to networking with them. Make sure you don’t spam their profile, don’t advertise, try to make friends.
Social Marketing is a long term procedure. You will gain more and more influence on Facebook and MySpace when you keep working on it. This can result in a large traffic flow to your autoresponder signup pages or blog. The traffic is also high quality and usually converts well.
