Listbuilding Tips Part 3
So far we have looked at listbuilding and how to setup our free Zookoda email marketing application. We have also submitted our free gifts to different giveaway events and all we need to do now is watch our mailing list grow.
I usually wait a week before sending the first email out to my mailing list as I have found the click through rate is higher. I think most subscribers don’t consider you a spammer this way.
While we wait we can look at other ways to gain subscribers to our signup pages. Most people use this method already and it is probably the easiest. It’s called Blogging.
One of the ways we looked at in a previous post to gain subscribers was to offer a free gift to those who subscribe to your blogs’s RSS feed or maybe you offer your readers a newsletter.
First thing I do is set up a new list in my Zookoda or AWeber account and then copy the script code and insert this into my blog’s sidebar. I also might add a picture of the Ebook or use text to let visitors to my site know that they can receive a free gift if they subscribe to my blog’s feed or newsletter. You can also use any banner advertising if you prefer to use these.
If you would like to know how to set up Zookoda to send your RSS feeds or newsletters, you can download my free ebook here and Chapter 7 explains it all in step by step walk through.
Tip: I usually treat this new mailing list a little bit different than a subscriber who signs up via my landing pages. Visitors who signup to your RSS feeds or subscribe to your newsletter will expect to receive what they signed up for and by having a seperate mailing list this will make it easier to track.
Next post I’ll show you how to optimize our Wordpress blog.
