It’s Day 16 of the Marketing Guru Challenge and today I would like to talk about blogging in general and how you can become successful with blogging.

Can you make money blogging?

Running a blog means daily work if you would like to make money blogging. You need to post to your blog, you need to bookmark your posts and you need to promote your blog through many different traffic streams.

Blogging is a long term marketing strategy. You won’t see much success in your first month. That’s why so many people fail. They give up before they even have started. So be prepared for all this work and be prepared that you need to keep blogging for months before you have built up a base of loyal readers.

Here is my weekly plan:

1) Write and bookmark my blog post. I will try to write 3 posts a week.
2) Add 5 friends on each social network.
3) Post on at least 3 different forums, answer questions and help others.
4) While dropping Entrecards, comment on blogs that are related to my niche, making sure the blogs are do follow.

On the days I am not writing a blog post, my plan is to:

1) Create a Squidoo or HubPage and bookmark it.
2) Write an article including a link to my autoresponder signup page or blog.
3) Distribute the article using my article submitter software.
4) Comment on other people’s profiles on social networking sites.
5) Sign up to new giveaway events.

Remember, everything you do will have a long term effect on your business. Your articles stay out there, your Squidoo lenses and HubPages stay out there and you will get more signups to your mailing lists. Your traffic will build up slowly but in 3 to 6 months from now, you will have a huge traffic empire with thousands of visitors every week.

So lets really see if we can make money blogging.

  • Hey Blogger Rapper, Great post and to let everyone know how difficult it can be to try blogging and to make money online. There is a lot of work involved when blogging and I do like the steps that you follow yourself it gives a new perspective on a different way of doing the things that one has to do during the day, week, or whenever. While it can be work it is also fun to meet new people and let us not forget it's fun making money while being at home and maybe even in your p.j.'s. I'm only speaking for myself of course I'm not suggesting that you are in yours!! lol

  • Making money does take time. Usually the first month you only make a few cents, if that. You have a nice plan to make money and I might even adopt using this idea. Cause right now I make a $0.00, I'm not even making a penny.

    Wow excellent. But does adding friends in social networks help? These are not really friends they just add, you can even add 500 without any effect. Do you have any strategy for keeping them engaged and visiting your blog?
