It’s Day 11 of The Marketing Guru Challenge and today I would like to show you some more blogging tips. How to get traffic and backlinks to your blog.

The easiest way to get traffic to your blog is by installing certain widgets. Here are some of the sidebar widgets I have found useful so far:

Entrecard – Without doubt the number one way to gain traffic to your blog. Other sites which have been a source of decent traffic are the ever popular MyBlogLog and BlogCatalog.

TweetMyBlog – Being lazy busy, this plugin will automatically post a tweet every single time you update your blog and the tweets also link back to your blog. This plugin also allows you to place a sidebar widget on your blog to show off your last 5 or 10 tweets.

Another excellent way to promote your blog posts is bookmarking. This is a real simple technique, it’s just takes a bit of work because you need to signup for about 10 or 15 sites. You can sign up to 50 if you want, but I tend to concentrate on the top 6 to 8 sites.

Once you have signed up (for free) you can start to bookmark your blog posts or other people’s blog posts. You can actually bookmark about anything you like.

There are several free tools to bookmark websites or blog posts. The best one I think is SocialMarker or there is also SocialPoster. Both tools are great and will save you lots of time.

One other easy method to get some traffic and backlinks to your blog is to submit it to different blog directories. Just do a Google search for “blog directories” or “list of blog directories” and then submit to as many as you can.

  • Hey whats up .Nice blog and I checked out some other post. Let me just add my 2 cents by stating what I see many bloggers doing. When you meet someone and you click work on that relationship. All those sites and bookmarks are good but not half as powerful as a good person that is hard working and keeps their word :)

  • blog with traffick and backlinks. without traffic nothing meaning for your sites. getting traffic and backlinks need a lot of hardworking. do it with a smart way if you want to increase good traffic and a huge of backlinks.

    Submitting to blog directories is time consuming, but it's sure as hell worth it if you can submit to at least 5 a day and if you do 5 a day that's 150 monthly potential backlinks (some might have nofollow). Use this free tool to check your backlinks:
